Red Bull Pink Edition Sugar Free Review

A can of Red Bull Pink Edition Sugar Free

Introduction

Hello fellow Soda Sippers! Today I'm reviewing the Red Bull Pink Edition Sugar Free, also known as the Sugar Free Red Bull Pink Edition. I purchased this can at a local grocery store chain in the United States. A quick note on methodology, as with most reviews, I reviewed this drink at ~34°F or ~1° C.

From the Red Bull website," The Red Bull Pink Edition gives you wiiings with the taste of raspberry and herbal notes of verbena."

Let's see how it is!

Appearance

The can features the usual silver Red Bull logo in front of a bright pink background with a blue ring with white letters reading, ""Sugar Free" at the top. The drink itself is a deep red color similar to red wine.

Characteristics

Aroma: The drink has a slightly sour cherry smell, followed by generic berry and sweetness that is a mix between cotton candy, strawberries, cherries, and raspberries. There is a strong artificial sweetener flavor smell that fights for prominence.

Taste: The first sip delivers a sweet and tart berry flavor that competes with an artificial sweetener flavor. Subsequent sips revealed additional berry flavors and tartness that resembles a combination of cherries, raspberries, and strawberries. The flavors remain consistent throughout, with a slightly sour berry aftertaste that lingers after swallowing.

Mouthfeel: The drink is lightly carbonated with a thin texture that leaves a noticeably dry feeling on your tongue after swallowing.

Analysis

Strengths: The berry flavor is pleasant and enjoyable.

Weaknesses: The artificial artificial sweetener flavor has an outsized impact compared to the mildness of the berry flavor. These elements compete, making the drink feel chaotic.

Rating

Rating 3/5 - Okay Soda: Recommended for fans of the brand, flavor, or concept. This soda has average characteristics overall, one decisive issue, or many small issues.

Review: The berry flavor is good, but the artificial sweetener flavor fights for control over the flavor too much. The drink feels chaotic with multiple strong flavor competing, that may be off-putting to some people.
